I'm going to a light opera/sacred music concert tonight. My dress is a textured black sheath with silver glitter pattern, and has a matching shrug. The dress comes about 5 inches above my knee. I don't know if I should wear a knee high black leather boot with a blocky heel, or a strappy stilletto. I don't want to look trampy, but with a skirt this short I'm cutting it close. I'm 5 foot 3 and muscled built (but fairly curvy) any ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks

Wear nude stockings with a bit of shimmer & a classy pair of black slingbacks, heels 3" or thereabouts. That will look so classy with your sheath & with that heel height you'll be able to walk comfortably without teetering about. I'm the same height as you & I've found that when you go for the higher heels it's either uncomfortable as the evening progresses or you tend to wobble a bit. Do not wear boots with a dress like that, or anything with a blocky heel. With a sheath you want the lines to be sleek. Good luck & have fun!!!!

If you don't have any other shoes that you could wear, then go with the stiletto. The boots sound way too casual for a nice evening at a concert.
But I think that since the dress is so short, it would be too much. Wearing one sexy thing in an outfit is enough, more can look trashy. So avoid sexy shoes when your dress is already hot enough on it's own. If you have a more basic black heel, try that.
If you can go shopping today, try to find a dressy heel to bring out the silver. I would get a heel that's under 3" in either black with silver accents, or silver. If you want the higher heel to add some height, since you are petite, then try a wider heel.

You should try to find some cute black pumps,with a little silver i it.Open toes are so overdone,and so plain,but pumps are stylish and with an over the knee dress,you'll look stylish,and cute.It definitely won't leave you looking trampy.Or if your daring enough to go for the sex and the city look,try a red pump.Your shoes will pop in all the right way,trust me,i do it all of the time.and if your too self conscious and think that you should be wearing something else red,apply some red lipstick!I've gotten plenty of compliments on that one!Happy shopping!Oh and try to get a high that's not too short,because the more length the heel is the longer your legs look,and everybody loves a girl with long legs!

If I were you I'd go with a black or silver stilletto to match the dress. If your worried about looking trampy try and get a stilletto with a smaller heel. Boots would only conceal your legs and wouldn't look good with the shaw and dress.

A guys opinion ... I would wear the high heels (shoes). Either a pair of black pumps or the ones you mentioned with the straps. I think those would look great. Really sexy with the dress but not trampy (the boots may lean towards trampy I think ... although I'm a guy so I like that look ;-) ). I think you should wear black nylons too, again sexy but not trampy, not with nice shoes. That's my thoughts.
(btw - I'm not really a cheerleader, the picture is me in my Halloween costume this year :-) )

That`s what`s great about a black dress, you can choose the shoes for the occasion. For the concert you are going to I would choose a medium high heel in black . Your other two choices wouldn`t suit the occasion.

The strappy stilletto would be my choice. I would think the block heeled boots might make it appear to casual.

The newer Peep toe Pumps are very elegant and sexy. Stick with black and make sure to wear black stockings too. This is a night event and bare legs would look too casual. Have a Great Time !!!!!!

Black, open toed strappy heels or if you have silver that would be bring out the silver in your dress.
