All you can really do is offer her and the baby your love and support. Your sister may have made a mistake, and judging by the age difference she could have been manipulated into it. 36 w/ 16 is statutory rape even if the 16 year old is willing. Most of all, remember that no matter what your sister has done, it isn't the baby's fault. The baby didn't ask to be brought into this world, and he/she deserves to be loved and raised in a happy home. The 36 definitely is required to provide financially for the child.

nothing the damage is already done the question should have been what should i do if my 16 year old sister is dating a 36 year old man but it's too late shes already pregnant putting him in jail just takes him away from his child and it's not fair to the baby but then again what kind of man that is 36 years old finds interest in a 16 year old i guess you can only be there for her and love and support her even if you dont agree with her decisions

Well with this generation people are having kids at a younger age. I don't support this really in any way. Your sister is probably still in high school(right?) and has a lot to go through in her life. Now she has just one more problem. Though having a child is a beautiful great thing...you know she is not ready to have this child.
The key here is responsibility.
Is she ready to have this child, and take care of it on her own?
This will effect her permanently, now if she has the child she probably won't go to college, or finish high school, and be working worrying about bills. And doing it at such a young age...(sigh) like I said, its this generation.
You have to talk to her about the child, and as to if she can really manage it. Hopefully it is still early for her to possibly have an abortion. Which...honestly...I don't know where I stand on that but
it may be the only way for her to still have her own life.
If she has the child, really she will realize ten years from now how much she will miss(the fun, and not too mention just having a normal life).
What do your parents think of this? They're probably saying the same thing.
As for the 36 year old man, he doesn't have much to do with it. Lets say that he loves her, she loves him, okay he will prove that by sticking by her through all of this and being a good father.
She will prove that it isn't puppy love by learning from the experience, taking precautions, and realizing what can happen if she isn't careful.
She has to be responsible, she has to be ready.
I really don't think the age is a matter, I've met couples who had years of difference between them(like in this case). However your sister, is still too young to know any better.
Her lack of experience in life, is now going to haunt her.
Whatever the decision is with her, and obviously the 36 yr old man(he gets to put in her ten cents too), whatever is the outcome you must be okay with it.
Once again hopefully your parents will feel the same way, and she will need you and everybody else in her life to not only back her up 100%, but be able to help her in those dire situations.

Where are your parents in this? Call the police. A 36 year old man should NOT be having sex with a 16 year old. Was this a teacher or family friend that got her pregnant? Notify the police.

I know you are freakin out! If I were you I would just be there for your sister. Shes young and may not be mature enough to realize he is old enough to be her dad. If it were my sister I would not let that pervert near her but you know how teenagers can be. Support her and the baby and hopefully this man will disappear from her life if he hasn't already. Family is all she needs right now.

Have the man arrested for stutory rape because your sister is only 16. She needs some counseling too. She's still just a child and does not realize what she's gotten herself into. If she is only a few weeks along then I'd have her get an abortion.

Call the police. Then lock the 16 year old up in her room and when the baby comes make her raise the baby as punishment. And tell your parents.

Where are your parents.....they should have filed charges against this poor excuse for a man. There is obviously something wrong with him other than being a pedophile, that he wants to date little girls. This man needs to be locked up, because in a couple years when she is too old for him..he will pray on another little girl. Please.....talk to the authorities and get this man turned in.

Report him. This is horribly sad. He should know better - your sister is still a child. Support her but maybe encourage adoption. Where are your parents and what do they think!? This man is old enough to be your sister's own father - Yuck!!! Call the police immediately this is disgusting.
