That is right on target. A friend of mine had a baby at 24 weeks almost a month ago and he was 1 pound 5 oz.

That is normal. A baby weighs different when born. So looking at how much they weigh now will be different from when they are born. I worked in Labor and Delivery for a while and I have seen babies weigh from 1 pound all the way up to 11 pounds....If your doctor is o.k. with the weight and size of your baby now and your babies progress then it will be OK....I know someone who weighed in at 1lb and 6 oz when he was born and he is a healthy 38yr old..So at 23 weeks your child is doing well......Mt friend was born at 6 months and like I said he only weighed 1lb and 6 oz...

Ignore that stupid ue date thing. They changed mine so often I finally said to them the date the baby was conceived isn't going to change no matter how many times you change the due date so why don't you just admit that your guessing and badly at that. I was right they kept telling me that my child was "older" than what I thought. I was pretty certain of my conception date and they always told me that was wrong. They tried to induce me because I was "too far along" and I ended up witth a c-section for failure to progress. I then gave birth to a scrawny 6lb 7 oz boy. I now have a 8lb 10 oz baby I gave birth to naturally and the first is a large strapping boy at two. Conclusion: My first wasn't as far along as they insisted and my body wasn't ready for birth as well as my son not being ready to be born. You know why because they thought I didn't know when he was conceived and how far along he was.

Yeah that sounds about right. At my 20 week ultrasound I'm thinking my son was about 1lb 2 oz and he weighed 7lb 7oz even though he was 2 weeks early!

At my last appt. we did the ultrasound. I was 19 wks and my son was already 10 oz so that sounds pretty good to me.
