John Kerry needs to atone for his sins. He should go meet the troops face-to-face and apologize for his thoughtless remarks. If not, then he should resign.

Releasing a press statement means nothing. Thats a cowardly way to "apologize". If he can't go meet the troops and representatives of vetrans groups like the VFW, Swift Vets, and others then it doesn't count.

Are you kidding? If he showed up in Iraq they'd probably boo him off the stage, and thats if someone didn't take a pot shot at him.

Every single soldier, sailor, airman and marine know that something is fishy about a guy who showed up in Vietnam for 3 months, got 3 purple hearts for wounds but never missed a day of duty, and won't release the relevant parts of his medical records that say what injuries he received.

Well, as one respondent earlier quoted his apology verbatim, you can see right here that there was no "I'm sorry for what I said" in his press release either. He said that he was sorry that some people listened to what he said, not what he later said he meant to say. Talk about double-speak! I agree with you entirely, if he cannot look even one soldier in the eye and honestly say he is sorry, then he should step down.

In the past 3 decades, the only heinous thing a Democrat has ever done that Democrats were upset about and punished the perpetrator was when Joe Lieberman supported the War on Terror. Pedophilia, philandering, perjury, sexual harassment, drunk driving, treason, homosexual prostitution, corruption, draft-dodging, KKK membership, etc, are all acceptable if it is a Democrat.

When has a Democrat ever held another Democrat accountable for unethical, immoral or illegal behavior?

And if you don't agree with this, cite some examples.

Since you've swallowed the 'feigned indignation' dangled in front of you by Bush Co., there's really no point in trying to illustrate to you how Kerry was not insulting, talking about, speaking about, commenting on or describing our troops.

"I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member or American who was offended," Kerry said in a statement Wednesday.

"As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: My poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and [was] never intended to refer to any troop," he said.
