Please I don't want "attack" comments either way. I just would like to understand why people are against it. What makes it bad?

I believe that people are afraid of the unknown and claim that we are not her to play God which is true but then why do our country need organ donors or why do we have blood banks. Again our government is just plan of the unknown but then we clone goats.

To answer the investors question it is simply that to get drugs from any new technology takes years and years, is high risk, and costs millions to billions of dollars. That is way too risky for most investors. That is why most technologies start with government funded research.

So this answers the rest of the original question. It isn't a good investment and since there is controversy over whether it is killing life or not the government doesn't want to get involved.

It all goes back to the old arguement of when a sentient life begins, Roe vs. Wade, etc. The right wing takes a stance on one extreme and the left wing does the opposite. Therefore we have a sociopolitical stalemate that will burn on forever. To win their arguement, the right would have you believe that children are being "farmed like cattle". The left would have you believe that no disease would ever be cured without it. You really have to get the facts and draw your own conclusions. I hope this helps you.
