No i don't have this problem...but a solution could be that you get a book that he might like, like i tried book that he liked....and i read to him while we're lying in bed with each other relaxing.......he really enojyed that, plus you guys can have question and answer time such as,"do you think that that was right????lol,or"I can't believe he did that,do you think that thats right?"and it could bring you together. Its like a project you do together, and few couples do that. You could even spice it up,and get a book with naughty stories.Happy Reading!!!!!

If your reading is taking the place of important tasks such as housework (i.e., if your house is a pit, with dirty dishes piled in the sink, and yet you sit reading), then maybe you are reading too much. Don't let your home and family suffer because of a hobby. You wouldn't like it, probably, if your husband spent every single weekend golfing or hanging out with friends, so try to see it from his point of view.
Obviously your partner would rather you spend the time you are reading paying attention to him instead-- it could be that he sees it as you avoiding him. So be honest with yourself and think about whether this may be the case-- do you read to sort of put up a barrier between the two of you?
Maybe if you take a couple of evenings a week to JUST pay attention to your husband and talk to him about his day, plan activities, and stuff like that, you can spend the other nights reading and he won't mind so much.

There is NO SUCH THING as reading too much! LOL!! I have a book in my hand constantly, read whenever and wherever I can. I think your s.o. is jealous! Do you still give him his necessary attention? Hugs & such? They can be so ---- needy(?) ----- sometimes. Anyway, my husband is jealous, too, of my reading -- but mostly because HE falls asleep when he tries to read! But I always make sure he gets his hugs before a get down to my reading. Hope this helps!

DBF gets annoyed sometimes because I read everything. Whether it is one of his magazines or books or just a package in the kitchen. I run out of things to read by the end of the month. But I like to read before bed-I feel like it relaxes me as well.

My mother used to have the same problem. They would be in bed with the tv on, he would be watching tv or falling asleep, but if she opened a book, he would start interrupting her reading. I don't know if they even realize they are doing it. My dog does the same thing, lol. I don't know if they feel they are being excluded or ignored or what.

He may feel you are ignoring him. Try reading for a set period, tell him you'd appreciate an uniterrupted half hour to read, then make sure you devote some time to talk and pay attention to him.

if i had this problem i would use it to my advantage. he obviously is missing your attention and feeling left out. so i would ask him to help entertain or relax me some other way, such as give you a nice massage
you are lucky to have the time + concentration ability to be able to read to that extent

It's ok to read a lot as long as you understand just the same.:)

I don't read a lot, but my wife does. It really doesn't bother me. I let her be her own person and she lets me be me. It works well for both of us!
btw/ Today is our 21st anniversary.
