Isn't it great to adopt, to save one baby's life from dire strait? This whole debate is so ridiculous. What do you think?

I totally agree with you! I'm not a real fan of Madonna, but I think the whole media circus is just ridiculous. What she did was a wonderful thing. People need to leave them alone.

I would just like to know why she couldn't adopt a child that didn't have parents. She adopted a child that has a father, why not just give them some money, so that he and his father, and grandparents could all live together?
She had her choice of several children, why pick the one who already has a father that loves him? Why not pick a poor child with no parents?
I applaud her trying to help out poor orphan children, but the circumstances around this just seem weird.

I agree, she was just trying to do a good thing, and everyone is up her *** about it. The Father of David put him in an orphange because he couldn't take care of him. Davis mother dies giving birth. He said if someone else can give my son a better life, then please take him. Okay, so she avoided the 18 month waiting period because she is well, Madonna. But the child wasnt expected to live past the age of 5 if he stayed in that orphange. Plus she donated millions so that orphanage and others in Africa can prosper. I think shes a sweetheart! everyone needs to lay off her!

Madonna has always been a shamless self promoter. I think many people view here adoption as another way to get in the spotlight. Her motives may be strictly honorable, but many people will doubt her.... I know I do.

There are untold numbers of children in her own country, in her own city, who are desperate to be adopted, but adopting American babies isn't chic, and it doesn't get world press coverage.
The whole of Ms. Ciccone's life has been a series of attention-seeking stunts, and this is no different.

i totally agree with you why was it ok when Angelina Jolie did it? twice! and when Madonna does the same she gets her hand smacked something doesnt add up... I think she's doing something great for that child he was living a very sad life of poverty and now he will have so many opportunities, he can grow up with privledge do something great with his life and go back to help people in his homeland.

The concern is that she is just doing this as a publicity stunt, and breaking up a family in the process. I don't know if any of this is true.

I agree with you. She has saved a little boy from a life of poverty, disease, and people need to just leave her alone.
