if you're looking for lat long uk postcode matchups (and who isn't) - then you can be quite cheeky and bypass paying for the post code db's - they can be seriously expensive - have a look at the http: stream from a website like multimap.co.uk - they pass postcode queries in the url, and the returned stream contains the lat and long info (as well as loads of other stuff) - you can extract the data you want real easy (i guess you can program a bit) and the best bit is it's free - if you weher to add this info to a db everytime a request for data is made you can start to grow your own useful postcode db...

Where in Edinburgh? There are thousands of postcodes used to cover the city. They all start "EH" but thereafter they are all different. If you have enough details of the address the first link below. If the link is for a particular session then try the second link and click on the "Find a postcode" link on the page that appears. Edit: Catwoman, Edinburgh postcodes commence EH1 and go up to EH17 for the main town, if you take in outlying areas they go up to EH55. For each of these codes there is a second part of three digits. This is single integer (1-9) followed by two letters. This gives a potential total something in excess of 6000 codes for each EH number... or something like 335 thousand possible codes for Edinburgh and area. Without something more to go on your guess would be as good as mine for which of these would be the correct postcode for Ng.
