Do they really look that bad? I honestly never notice but getting ready to do some major shopping for fall and it appears I need to avoid pleated pants (although it seems every designer has some under their label and they appear to be fairly popular items). Give me some opinions guys and girls!

1. They add bulk, which equates into weight. Pleated pants make you look heavier.
2. It takes extra work to keep the pleats looking right. You can't just grab them out of the dryer and wear, you have to iron them to keep them laying the right way. Otherwise they just look sloppy, and add even more pounds to your waist, hips, and thighs.
3. The pleats tend to puff and pouch, not only adding pounds, but looking dumpy as well. There is no purpose to having material bunch under your belt, it just looks bad.

For one thing, it is really hard to keep a good pleat in the pant. I hate them. They make your frontal area look like a kangaroo pouch even on slender people. I also don't agree with so called experts that they help hide tummy "pooch". They just make people think you have one even if you don't. Ugh! Stay away form them!

Unless you are as thin as a stick, and I mean THIN, pleats look terrible. They magnify any lumps, bumps or wide areas. Avoid them.
