A glass of wine may be good for you. When you use wine in cooking however, it only adds to the flavour. All the alcohol evaporates, so it is neither good for you, nor bad for you. Enjoy.

Should be fine.
Pregnant women are actually "allowed" a small amount of alcohol in pregnancy - it works out as a couple of glasses of wine a week I think (don't quote me - check with your doctor).
Years ago it was common for pregnant women to drink Guiness for the iron content! My grandmother did with all three of her pregnancies and they were all fine! I think everyone has got too cautious these days.
Food cooked in wine should be fine as the alcohol is cooked out of it.
I haven't drunk any alcohol through my pregnancy but thats because the mere smell of the stuff has been making me heave. I'm practically teetotal anyway but have promised to have a glass of beer at Christmas when the baby's born!

It is fine. Alcohol is cooked out of the food leaving only the flavor. It is also ok to consume one glass of wine from time to time while pregnant. In fact, it is recommended by many doctors to drink 8 oz. of wine daily for your health when not pregnant though. LoL.

New research shows that not as much alcohol as previously thought "burns off" during cooking. Since no amount of alcohol is safe during pregnancy (even amounts too small to cause fetal alcohol syndrome can cause brain damage), if you want to absolutely be on the safe side, the answer is no.
"According to a 1992 study by Augustin, et al at the Department of Food Science and Toxicology, Food Research Center in Moscow, Idaho, the amount of alcohol that actually cooks off varies, depending on how long the food has been cooked, how it's been cooked, at what temperature, and based upon the specific alcohol and food ingredients in question."
Remember, the placenta is not a filter. What you consume, the baby consumes, and the developing brain is very susceptible to drugs such as alcohol.

Not a problem...the alcohol is taken out during the cooking process. Docs say 2 glasses of wine a week MAXIMUM is ok...but if you are on a no alcohol regime aslong as the food is cooked then it's fine...all that is left is the flavour.

Yes, even if all the alcohol doesn't burn off, some doctors will tell you that a glass or two of wine during pregnancy is actually good for the development of the baby's heart. Depends on who you ask I guess. My husband and I cook many of our meats in red and white wines because the flavor is unmatched. Good luck!

Cooking denatures the alcohol in wine, beer, etc, meaning that one it's been heated up to a certain temp, you can't get drunk off of it anymore. Also, the amount of alcohol used to cook a whole meal for multiple people is less that you'd consume in a glass anyway.
Don't drink up, but you can eat up all you want!

that's your decision, but I refrained from alcohol my entire pregnancy. they don't know exactly how much alcohol can cause Fetal Alcohol Syndrome... so it could be a little, could be a lot. My doctor suggested staying away from it completely. I don't agree with having a glass of wine here and there either- by drinking, you can do harm to your baby, and the baby could result in a very low birth weight. but it's completely up to you...there's always that risk.

Yes, cooking alcohol depletes the alcohol content. Besides, studies have shown that an occasional glass of wine is actually healthy while pregnant.

Yes it is because when cooking with wine the alcohol is cooked out and all that is left is the flavor.
