I tried Plow-truck, plow (-truck) plow -truck and all of them still returned listings with the words plow and truck in them.

If you wanted to search for plow, but not truck it would be:
plow -truck

Click on Advanced search (right side).
In "with all of the words" put PLOW
In "without the words" put TRUCK
hit 'Search' and you'll get the first entry as

put quotes around your keywords, it narrows the search down drastcally
