That is what the media driven polls would have you believe. However, independent polls have the house still a toss up, leaning Democrat by 2 or 3 seats, and the Senate a toss up but leaning GOP by 2 seats.

The House races look very hopeful for the Democrats. Polls (both internal cndidate polls) and external polls show a strong possibility for Democrat control there. the Senate races look much tighter and possibly moer hope for the Republicans. Most pundits agree that a lot depends on Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia, Missouri, Pennsylvania and a couple of other tight race states. The Republicans have a slight poll lead in Tennessee, Missouri is in a dead heat and the Democrat candidate is ahead in Pennsylvania. In Virginia the Allen campaign seems to be doing everything in its power to self destruct and give the race to the Democrat candidate (Webb). Of
course there could be surprises in other states as well.
Right now the whole deal could depend on how well the candidates and their parties get the voters out. The Republicans are known for doing that vey well. Early voting estimates are up almost 50% over 2004. Estimates are that the turnout on the 7th will be up as well. Is the increase due to Republicans concerned over a possible Democrat takeover? Or is it due to Democrats and moderates that have had enough?
I guess what I'm saying is, who the heck knows?

Here is hoping that the repuglicans lose one or both houses, one party rule hasn't be good for our country. Our constitution is under attack, we are in the middle of a war based on the lies that the president told to rush us to war. We need to restore checks and balance to the government. You want to remember that the repuglicans have been very right in the last 6 years on just about everything, tax cuts to the very rich. Leaving the poor and middle class behind. Pay raises every year but no rise in the minimum wage is such a good example where these guys heads are. A lot of people can argue against that, but I remember living on $1 an hour. If they never raised minimum wage good chances I would still be working for $1 an hour. I don't know what you consider losing their azz. But just a slim majority would be enough to cause compromise. That is all that is needed to stop this behavior and get back to the bargaining table.

I think a lot more people will come out and vote Democrat because they are unhappy about the direction this country has taken under Republican control. However, it will not be a stampede, nor will it be a landslide. Many people agree with Republican held beliefs on issues that they consider important, and they will vote that way.

I hope! But I don't foresee a landslide. Afterall, these are the same voters that re-elected the Shrub! After four years of BS they re-elected him! And now some are thinking that maybe it was a mistake. DUH!
I think it is VERY likely that the GOP will lose many seats to the Dems, but not as many as we think. For some reason, GOP voters are more likely to vote party line, whereas Dems are more likely to vote on the issues. This only helps the GOP in times like this.
I think the seats will just even out: half Dems; half GOP.

Word on the street is that the Republicans will lose their *** in this coming election.
I say my bills will still be paid, I will still have money in my bank accounts, and have my 30 year loan paid off in 5.5 years. Isn't life great! My @ss is still in tact.

I wouldn't put money on it. It ain't over until it's over. There has been an out break of early voting, higher than ever before and it's conservatives who do the majority of early voting. Ya never know!
