It can only be driven a very short distance - about a block or less.

The short block - when replacing an engine - is the engine block lower assembly complete with reworked pistons and crankshaft. The short block does not include the heads, manifold, or any of the accessories like alternator, starter, etc.. The short block typically includes all of the major machine work to rebuild an engine except for the valves.

Yes, 37 weeks is considered full-term. 34-36 is considered pre-term and before 34 weeks is premature. I am 37 weeks pregnant today too. I was on bed rest and medication for 2 weeks because I had preterm contractions that were 2 minutes apart and so at the Hospital they gave me a shot to prevent preterm labor. (That's when I was 33 weeks & 6 days pregnant). At my 36 week ultrasound, I was told my baby weighs approx. 6 pounds and 12 ounces (could be off by a half a pound). So, the doc says it will be safe to have the baby now, she should be fully developed. I don't plan on having her any day now, but, if it happens, I'll be happy! I think the longer the baby is in there, the better, the healthier. Oh and speaking of the medication, the doctors shouldn't put you back on it now that you are 37 weeks. You're considered in the safe zone now. Well, good luck to you. This is my first, I'm nervous about the labor and delivery. I want a natural vaginal delivery and I hope all goes well with me and my baby girl. Congrats. We're due on the same day! YEAH! We'll be giving thanks around THANKSGIVING!

Any incomplete replacement engine. Short blocks consist of the "lower" or "short" portion of the complete motor. This is typically the block, crankshaft, pistons, & rods.
A "long" block would consist of the "short" portion plus cylinder
heads, (valves, pistons, rings) intake manifolds, valve covers, carburation system/injection system and ignition--More or less the complete package.

A short block is the engine block with the pistons, rings, crankshaft and camshaft (if its not an overhead cam motor).
It doesn't typically include the heads, oil pump, sheet metal parts like pans and covers, or the intake/exhaust components or accessories like alternator and starter.

Refers to an engine assembly that is short a few major working items such as intake manifold, cylinder heads, ingnition etc. It can be a wise puchase if you have recently replaced several major working parts that can be transfered to the new "short block"

it's a block with crank, cam, pistons, rods, and timing gears & chain. you use your old heads, intake, exhaust, oil pan, and timing cover. long block is usually a better buy but a little more expensive.
