You cant beat seeing a decent film on the big screen. Even widescreen tvs cant compete.

Besides, I like overpriced pop corn and drinks that come in cups the size of a barrel!

I like seeing films but here in London you can pay up to £17 for a ticket to see a film in the Odeon Leicester Square. Then you have to take out a small bank loan to pay for the drinks and popcorn. However much money I have in my hand at those tills it's never enough!

yes in the cinema it is a waste of money and time. At the house it is nice sometimes. I would rather do other things though.

Heck no (although anything can be done to excess, eh?).
The Psychology of Filmwatching must be a fascinating study.
Above entertainment, it can be stimulating and healthy to imagine ourselves in the roles of the characters we view. For some, it's their first experience with empathy.
I read once of how valuable soap operas were for elder, bed-ridden patients. They had few/no visitors and little activity and contact with others (outside of nursing staff). By viewing soap operas, they 'got outside themselves' and experienced various emotions and mental processes, thus adding a measure of vitality (so to speak) to their lives.
Who suggested movies are a waste of time? Toss popcorn at 'em. Indeed!
And I'll tell ya' something else: I'm adding "loves to view and discuss films" to my list: Qualities I Want in a Mate.

Arrrh, sacrilege! Cinema is the only art form with any life left it in. Apart from TV, it's the one and only medium that millions of people access every week. Long live the movies!
