I have got flaky and dry skin just below the head of my circumsized penis.
Initially it was a small area, but its growing. The skin is very dry and flaky as if it were going to come out and get replaced by new skin, but if I try to flake it out, the area gets red and irritated and shows signs of bleeding.
What could be the reason
And whats the remedy
Could it be a fungus problem, and should I avoid having intercouse with my wife, till it heals ???????

It could be many things. If an STD is ruled out then it could indeed be a fungal infection, in which case you should go to your doctor for some prescription cream. It could also be that you've been "too rough" on your penis lately and wore it raw, in which case you'd need to let it heal and use lubrication when you do do something.

It could also be simply dry skin. Without a foreskin to keep the glans (penis head) moist, it is susceptible to drying out. If you think this is the case, apply hand lotion to the area. Also, don't peel the dry flaky skin, as that'll make it raw and it'll take longer to heal. Just apply lotion, perferrably moisturizing or healing (like aloe vera) lotion, and let it do its job. If the flaky skin falls off on its own, let it, but don't do anything to it.

Where are you sticking your penis then?!
This just is an infection coming thro sexual act with infected people or by low hygiene!
If you are having sex with your wife, now we both are infected!
Therefore we both have to follow a possible treatment then.
In the meanwhile try only anal sex if you both like it.
Without seeing the lesions, it would be impossible to say what they are.
Possibilites would be a bacterial skin infection, dermatitis or a fungal infection.

Good answers have been given. Get yourself to a dermatologist . You may want to consult your primary care physician first. Since it is spreading don't delay. It is a common problem and doctors examine penises all the time. Don't be embarrassed. Medicines for a bacterial infection only make a fungal infection worse. So you need professional opinions.
