One of the simplest major repairs in the the auto world. Aside from removing the fan belt and clutch and hoses the water pump only has four bolts holding it on. We have done them in just under 30 minutes at the shop when in a rush. The radiator shroud has bolts that allow the top of it to come off exposing the radiator and fan belts and such for easy access. If your water pump has a four bolt fan and clutch assembly loosen those bolts first and then belt removal and take fan off pump. If you have the great big bolt holding it on and the pulley on the pump then you need a narrow crescent wrench or wrench that fits exactly. In that case once the fan shroud is removed the first thing to do is to remove the clutch with a wrench while the pulley is either held with a tool, or using a hammer to knock the wrench in the direction it removes (can check that on the new water pump as some remove backwards) and rest of job is just belt and hoses and four bolts on the pump itself. Scrap the old gaskets off the engine completely as mentioned by another poster and using a sealer reinstall the pump with it's two new gaskets and reverse the rest of the directions. Don't need a manual for this one and lucky it is a Chevy for this particular repair. We fight over these at the shop as "easy money". :-)
