Regular jogging shoes are usually marking, but might happen to be non-marking. It usually says on the box, but it may be not true. Usually, shoes with white sole are non-marking. If you intend to use jogging shoes for dancing, you want them to be new, never worn outside or you will have to clean them very thoroughly. All the clay and sand that you bring from the street damages the floor.

For dancing, it is the best to get dance shoes or dance sneakers. Good pair of jogging shoes costs about the same, so why not get the shoes that are designed for dancing. You will do your feet a favor because it is a lot more comfortable. Your dance teacher will always give your feet a dirty look until you get a pair of dance shoes. LOL.

They will say so on the box. Generally, regular jogging shoes leave marks. You need to ask at the store, and look on the box. I suggest calling a store that sells dance shoes to ask them for sure, they should be listed in the phone book.
