Your best bet is to contact the quilt guild in your area and see if they do charity quilts. If you aren't sure how to find the guild, try stopping at a quilt store or other fabric shop. You can also check with churches - a lot of time they do charity quilts, especially things like Project Linus (making blankets for children who are ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need). You could even contact the nearest Project Linus chapter directly. The website below has a map that you can use to locate a chapter.

It's very generous of you to offer it here, but if you find someone local, you'll save some cost on shipping and the results will probably stay in your community.

I'm a co-chair for the Community Outreach portion of the Palm Beach County Quilters' Guild in West Palm Beach, Florida, and we create/donate hundreds of quilts a year not-only to charities that cater directly to displaced families, battered women and children's organizations but also to organizations such as the Humane Society and the Red Cross, donating larger quilts to be auctioned or raffled off to raise money. If you have not already decided on a worthy organization, we would love to be considered.

Regardless, I'm certain whomever you give the supplies to will appreciate your generosity. Thank you for helping out!

I've included a link for Project Linus. It is a charity that makes security blankets and quilts for seriously ill and traumatized children. They gratefully accept donations of quilting supplies. Information on donating supplies can be found on the FAQ page.

My mom is a member of Council on Aging, they have a quilting club. She does all her quilts by hand and has won several awards. If she's interested, how can I get in touch with you?

I just found your e-mail address (sorry).
