uninstall ALL codec (pack or whtver) you have then install just one of them~ i recommend "K Lite Codec Pack"
should work fine.. and install "K Lite MEGA Codec Pack" it sure can play lots of stuff
i cant believe you still cant play any .avi files even with that.. or u just having a corrupted file problem

First of all i recommend you to update you WMP to WMP11 or then install "Klite codec mega pack" and during installation choose full installation option from installer. and also install Media Player Classic

get rid of media player problems, download Real player for free from 'funmaza.com' , it plays every kinda file......

install ace mega pack and it will run everything
