planning on buying 3000, (limit is 3200) have been told that duty free is not such any more and is not much cheaper than in normal shops, is this right? thanks for any help.

got friends that buy their cigs from a warehouse in Benidorm, all legal, and it's about £14-£16 per 200 fags, won't be any cheaper at the airport do you think?

Angie, did you even bother to read my question properly? i'm not buying 3000 cigarettes to smoke at the airport. people like you really worry me sometimes.

Buy in Benidorm but remember you can only buy them in Tabacas and not in supermarkets like in the UK. Depends on which brand as to price. They all went up drastically recently in line with the new anti smoking laws here in Spain, apart from some cheapo local cigs. You will still save however.
Look round as some, not all, Tabacas give some freebies with a decent order

I'm from Spain. If you buy them from a tabacconist in Benidorm it is cheaper. Around 27 Euro for certain brands. Duty free is 30 euro. You can bring as many as you want if you but them in benidorm as the tax is paid on them (the little blue sticker on the back of the pack) as long as they are for personal use.

You are better off buying your Cigs in Benidorm and not at the airport although you can buy at the airport they normally work out more expensive than those you buy off street in Spain

The price is government fixed so wont make any difference, if you buy in one of the Tabacos in Benidorm, you may get free gifts which you may not get at the airport

Why Benidorm? Go to Mauritius instead much nicer... and the cigarettes are about 50p a packet.. I just brought back loads in my luggage!

the shop are supposed to ask for ID on anyone who looks younger than 21, so you are likely to get checked more often than not, and the shopkeepers do it because they could lose their licence if they serve you. If they ask you for ID, and there will usually be a notice there to say they will, then you just have to walk away. I would check for the notice, if it's there don't even try to buy things that are illegal

get them at your resort,your not allowed to smoke in the airport or plane,i aways buy some gum for the flight and wait at the airport,if you are booked with a tour they pick you up at airport and your not allowed to smoke in the transport
