I just had the same problem with my Toyota Tacoma and the dealer said it was the airbag computer module. I asked if the repair would be under warranty and he said that was a safety issue and was covered up to 80,000 miles so they fixed it for free.

I have a Peugeot 106 with the same problem. Must be a french thing. I was told its the connection wires beneath the drivers seat coming dislodged. I am always shoving things out of sight under my seat so maybe its true.

There is a fault with your airbag, it could go off at any time. Don't mees about with it, at least not with someone sitting in front of it.
Take it to a Citreon dealer, they will stick it on a diagnostic machine and fix it.

The light is telling you that something is wrong
with the airbag system, and that you should
have it checked out with your dealer,
