Something I did once with a broken VHS tape was transfer the undamaged tape to another shell. I noticed that there was a couple of screws in the damaged tape and I could take those out. I then found a blank tape and took the screws out of it. I studied the way the reels and tape were put in there and I just took the reels and tape from the damaged and moved them to the undamaged shell and put it back together. I then threw away the blank reels and tape. It worked then. You may want to examine your tape and a blank tape and see if you can do that. You may also want to practice on a couple of tapes that are worthless till you get the steps down.

super glue will work but you have to be really careful not to get too much and get it on the tape or inside. if you have a cassette that you dont want you could change out the tape.
