We know the basic steps, but does the dance move around in a square, some other shape or does it remain relatively static? Does it move around the whole room or a smaller part of the room? My wife dances in her wheelchair. I dance standing.

Samba is a traveling dance. You should be able to go around the room with it, counter clock-wise, just like with Waltz . I'm a bit puzzled by the wheelchair part, but for those who are standing up - botafogos is an an example of a simple travling step. Voltas travel as well. Crusados walks travel. Promenade runs travel quite a bit.
