Anorexia is a mental disorder linked to a feeling of inadequacy.
Bulimia is known to exist for thousands of years, why not Anorexia Nervosa?

you have to know that the name anorexia was given to this pschychological illnes only late. To abstain from eating is a very old phenomenon that affected sad and thoughtful people.

Yes it did , it was called starving yourself to death but it didn't have a ' name' syndrome until later on.

Yes it did!
Princess Elisabeth (Austria-Hungary) was known for her anorexia,she would eat only two oranges for lunch so that her figure would remain slim.
