Make her a coupon book. In it will be coupons for FREE hugs, free foot rubs, a dinner out at a restaurant, a free house-dusting, dishes done, laundry, drive in the country, one free, no-matter-what win on an argument...anything you can think of that will give her relaxation, some time off and fun. Use your imagination and be creative!

I think baking something for your mom is a good idea, because it's personal and very sweet. Try this quick version of English Christmas Pudding. Briliant and a good alternative to the traditional method, which would take forever to prepare. Plus, your mom will defo not expect it (whereas cake & biscuits is just too predictable)

Ingredients
55g each of unsalted butter, self-raising flour and caster sugar
1 egg
110g handful of mixed dried fruit
splash of milk
1 apple, cored and grated
For the butterscotch sauce
3 tbsp each of soft brown sugar, unsalted butter, double cream
½ tsp vanilla essence
Method
1. Cream the butter, flour, sugar and egg together in a food processor until combined.
2. Add the fruit mixture and a splash of milk and the grated apple and pulse briefly.
3. Grease a small oven-proof glass bowl and pour the sponge mixture in. Cover with cling film and then microwave on high for 4-6 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, heat the sugar in a pan with the butter, cream and vanilla for a few minutes, stirring occasionally to form a butterscotch sauce.
5. Turn the pudding out onto a serving plate and pour the sauce over to serve.

Why not make a coupon book for her... Homemade by you with many different things in such as :

This coupon good for one batch of peanut butter cookies. (then make these when she is ready for them or when you know she is having some lady friends over, to lessen the burden of entertaining!! )

This coupon good for one Car Washing inside and out (if she has a car),

This coupon good for one Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (then bake her this cake at her desire)

This coupon good for one Marble cake with Confetti frosting (ditto)

This coupon good for one Complete window washing (having clean windows is a complete joy to some older people !! )

This coupon good for one free lunch at the restaurant of your choice. ( Then take her out when she is ready)

This coupon good for one day out at the mall and lunch. (make a date and take her)

This coupon good for a kitchen paint job. (take her to the paint store, help her pick out what she wants then DO The work for her! )

You could give her a dessert of the month coupon book. Decide on one dessert for each month, bake / make it and deliver it on a certain day of each month for one year. (if you live in a different state or country you could send her a "plant a month" from a local nursery or still do your baking but send it)

I could go on and on the possibilities are endless !!!! You know your mom, you know what she would enjoy, what she would love getting and what she likes to eat! Its in your corner now!

Merry Christmas!

: )

One year my Mother put together a collage for me of pictures of her and me from my birth until the present. You could do that for her. It would mean a lot to her, and she could keep it forever.
