try coating your nails with those products that help stop nail biting

if it does not work, try cutting pieces of plaster to place on top of your nail (you could use those beige colored ones, or transparent ones so that it isn't too obvious)

or, get yourself an expensive nice ring and wear it, try psychoing yourself that the ring looks great on nice nails and maybe you'll stop

Good luck!

I used to be such a bad nail biter. I made myself stop by letting one nail grow out. I would not bite it, it was my pinky. Once it had grown over my nail bed it gave me reason not to bite the next one and so on. When they crack or break you must file, don't put it in your mouth because then before long you will have them all gone again. It is still an issue today, although I have found that if I file it I will not bite them all.....

I used to do that (still can't help it when I'm nervous) and I feel your pain!

Chewing gum works miracles. (You just don't think about it. You're too busy chewing!) Also, treating your hands with a nice and smooth hand cream is a good idea. Your hands will feel so fresh, you won't even consider attacking your nails. Plus, you'll be turned off by the idea of tasting something that smells like milk&honey/almond/vanilla or whatever.

And your key to success: when you're stressed, try to do something. Walk, speak on the phone, or get a shower, just to keep your mind off your nails.

I have exactly the same problem. You can buy this nail polish which is clear and tastes horrible, so when you go to bite your nails it puts you off and you dont bite them anymore. Never really worked for me though, im still biting. If u find a solution please let me know.

Put some kind of nail polish on them and when you have the tendency to bite them stop and admire how pretty they look first.

In high school my girlfriend managed to get herself down to biting only one nail (a pinky, and gosh, it looked scary...).
At first she just stopped nibbling on one. When she felt ready, she stopped biting a second one, and so on. I think eventually she stopped altogether.
Good luck.

IT is hard, but the better they look the less likely you are bite. Try spending some time on them every night, then you will be proud of you efforts. This will certainly help when you have the urge to nibble.
