It is because today's society is much more liberal as it used to be so we are not afraid to express our feelings anymore.
And it is fun!=)
We are just curious that's all.

I've definitely noticed them getting younger and younger and dressing more sexually provocative. I couldn't believe the other day at the movie theater I saw these two girls, had to be about 9 or 10 years old wearing mini skirts, knee high boots tiny tops and had little clutches (purses) and were wearing makeup. Their parents were with them and it made me wonder how in the Hell these parents could allow their little girls to dress like that! I'm a very liberal person but whatever happened to kids just being kids and not trying to grow up so fast? I never dressed like that when I was a kid and neither did the other kids around me. I think the role models in pop music have changed the face of things as well. I dunno... I'm 25 and I was just blown away by how many little girls dress that way now. Plus when I'm on the Internet I notice that young teenage girls are saying a lot of things that I never would have said at their age (sexual stuff) on places like MySpace and others. I have a younger brother I try to keep tabs on and when I see the things the girls say on his page it really shocks me!

No, it is NOT your imagination. I think society as a whole has become more and more sexually provacative. It's everywhere. Tabloids, television, music. Yes, sexuality is a fact of life but I think there is a point where the whole "sex sells" concept tends to cause more problems for teens than necessary. My 11 yr old daughter is already developing a curiosity for sexuality and while we talk openly I do NOT promote experimenting in any way, shape, or form. I may be a lesbian but I have also preached abstinence to my 11 yr old as I feel she should concern herself more with her future and becoming a strong independant woman before concerning herself with sleeping around.

It's not your imagination.....I've noticed that is seems to be girls as young as 12 & 13 that are trying to act like they are 18 or so. They are dressing way to mature for their age and doing things I would have never even thought about. It makes me wonder where the parents are and why are they buying these clothes and allowing their babies to grow up so fast. Don't they know what they are doing to these kids. What happened to just being a kid?...doing kids stuff...and not "dating or going out with" someone so early in life. I also believe that this is one of the major contributing factors in the rise in teenage pregnancies. Clothes...makeup...TV....are all things that we as parents can control if we choose. But...when our kids start to get into adult situations so early in life, then we are setting our kids up for a very long and hard role.....parenthood.

Great Question !!!!!!

No, it's not your imagination - teenage girls are getting a lot more open sexually much earlier in life than they used to.

Try reading this article about "LUGS".

Interesting reading. I am glad the opportunity to explore is there but it seems like it's more difficult for the true young lesbians to find their way. Coming out is explained away as a "phase" they may be going through. Maybe in a lot of cases but what about those girls that are really gay and struggling with it?

Yes teenage and younger. They see it on T.V. could be one reason. I suppose they have no one at home who wants to explain to them that it isn't right just because it's alright on T.V.
