it keeps telling you the file cant be found or is being used by another applicant?

1.) Restart your computer
2.) Use Task Manager to End the process that warn you.
3.) Delete the file in Safe Mode.

On start up computer press F8 constantly. Then select safe mode.

Use the Unlocker utility.

Ever encountered any of the following error messages:

Cannot delete file: Access is denied
There has been a sharing violation.
The source or destination file may be in use.
The file is in use by another program or user.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
Cannot delete Folder: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

Unlocker is the solution!

1. Simply right click the folder or file and select Unlocker.
2. If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear.
3. Simply click Unlock All and you are done!

You can't delete a file which is being used (by you or anyone else) at the moment you want to delete it.

If the computer can't find the file then it, obviously, can't delete it.

The short answer to your question, as written, is "You can't".

Depends on what the "item" is that you are trying to remove.
If it is a system file, STOP!

What is the "item" maybe we can better help if we know what it is.
