I have met several women on the internet dating circuit in the last 6 years, several moved in here, then ran screaming when they saw I was such a self centered self serving hypocrite.... (I am not a very nice person).
Most people have good experiences meeting mates on the internet, just be careful (girls) there are a few predatory liars out there who are married and want nothing but a one nighter...

My friend has twice, she was in love with the first one SO SO SO much but he broke up with her straight after he met her. He said he can't deal with a distance relationship because he needs to 'work' (he delivers chinese takeaways like once a week) I think he broke up with her because she's really overweight but he didn't know that because she would only ever go on webcam with him from the face upwards (she's very pretty) anyway he's an arsehole and my friend was so distraught. Basically I guess she shouldn't have hidden herself away from him but if he was so in love with her then he wouldn't have cared would he??? Just don't lie on the internet because they find out sooner or later.
The second person she met up with was a complete joker, (his ex girlfriend turned down C. Ronaldo, he wants to be a priest but happily asked her for sex - she turned him down obviously, his brother is mental and is trying to kill him which is why he can't get a job or something ridiculous - this is all his lies) anyway because my friend is such a sucker she took all this in, after he met her he started being really off with her and then they just broke up!!!
basically hers are disaster stories but there's loads of people that meet up and stay together! You just have to be really careful.

Yes. I live in Florida and she lives in Washington state. We made plans to get together and I flew out there. She was very nice on the Internet and we hit it off very well at first when I got there, but before my planned return, she asked me to get an earlier flight back. I was so stunned and heartbroken that I had her take me to the airport in Seattle where I spent 3 days waiting for a flight. I still write to her, but I would never put myself through anything like that again.

Twice. The first one ended up being an 18 month relationship, despite myself being in London, and the girl being in Glasgow!
That was that. Never thought it would happen again, but I have to say, that I met the most amazing girl ever, about 6 months ago. I feel so lucky to have crossed paths with her, and still thank the internet for bringing us together. You may have guessed that we are still together and I don't see that ever changing! :)
By the way, neither occasions were dating sites!!

I have met up with three people I met over the net. One was someone who actually knew a lot of my friends, so it was kinda odd we hadn't met before. Another lived half a block away from me and we are still friends after 2yrs and the third was one of the greatest men I have ever known in my life. Sadly it was just not the right time in either of our lives, but I certainly remember him fondly.

Well have you ever seen the e.Harmony commercials? Those are people from a dating site, that got matched up, and are still together, from being online, communicating online (I mean). I met this guys who lives on the other side of the country, we were E-mail/pals, for awhile, but it got to where we both just started to getting to busy to write, anymore.. I started school, and he, well I dont know what he's up to, I ought to email him to play "Catch-up". So, to answer your question "Yes" people couple up, all the time, online. And I'm sure there's many other sites where they meet too., I just cant think of it, at the moment. Sorry. Just start chatting with someone who asks a question.. That you can see their "Real" picture, and see where there coming from, you know. That's what I did.. I met him, through this site.. He had his actual picture on here, and I just simply said, I dont know about your question, but if your not married, I hope you dont mind my saying this, but your "One fine fox!" E-mail me if you want someone to chat with, you know.. And he did, and we did back & forth, for awhile... It was fun, I'll have to give him a jot, and catch-up.. Smile!

I've met a few guys I've played online games with before. But that's it.
I have no desire to find Mrs. Right over the internet...that just sounds soooo cheesy and dangerous no matter how many "feel good" stories I hear.

While I was online one day I signed up to Yahoo Personals. Got lots of messages. Arranged to meet one guy for lunch. Three years later and we are rarely apart, what a great move that turned out to be.
