it seems to me that above the muscle looks more natural, but also seems like gravity would begin to take over quicker. i would really like to hear from any women who have had either procedure between about 4 to last 8 years to get thier opinion on how they feel thiers are doing now that they have had them a few years

I had mine done 1year ago and it was under the muscle. They look and feel natural. The reason I chose this even though it costs more is because I was told by the Dr. that in the event of getting a mamography tests for breast cancer it is easier to detect than if it is over the muscle. Play it safe and get it under. I think it also had to do with breast feeding if you want to have children later on I think it is easier. Good luck!

Breast Implant nightmares.... my suggestion is to not consider it and be happy with what mother nature gave you. Getting implants at a young age may look totally different when you are 30, 40, 50 years old or even if you put on weight or loose the pounds.
The difference between average and excellent results can often be measured in fractions of an inch, so be sure to choose a plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who specializes in cosmetic surgery. A breast augmentation is an easy operation to perform (many are done by non-plastic surgeons) but is very demanding to perform with consistent artistry and beauty.
The most difficult choice a woman faces is whether the implants are placed under the chest (pectoralis) muscle or on top of it. Many surgeons don't offer a choice, and do all their breast augmentations one way or the other. It is my belief that the best surgeons will offer a thorough education during the consultation, so that each woman can select the option that's best for her.
In short, breast implants placed on top of the muscle usually result in only minor discomfort and have a very rapid recovery.

Below the muscle next to the breast bone makes it far better when you are getting your periodic mammograms to detect breast cancer. They will be more comfortable and far easier to read and interpret. Also, the breast itself will feel more natural for certain.
Above the muscle will provide more "punch" to your implants. They will be less natural looking and feeling, and their presence will make mammograms more difficult for both you and the radiologist.
I have been involved with both situations, and I far prefer the implants that have been placed below the muscle. However, I also am a true fan of totally natural unaltered breasts without any alteration or augmentation. If I love the woman, then I love her breasts regardless of size. Maybe that's just me, but I always think it's pathetic when women feel forced to get implants to attract guys. If that's all they're attracted too, why would you want them?

But why do you consider it anyway? It just makes you look really strange. And when you already feel uncomfortable with the idea now, you would blame yourself a million times if anything goes wrong or does not feel good at all. The emotional pain can be even worse than the physical. You'd feel all alone and vulnerable in a hostile world. Maybe you already do, but goinbg into that scene would cement it, and never allow you to slip out of that feeling. Take a deep breath and drop the thought. That should make everything feel much warmer and nicer pretty soon.

Well, I'm getting implants within the next 2 weeks and my doctor only does it under the muscle and only on rare occasions does he do it above the muscle. Do your own research and see what's best for you and what it is you want to do. Don't rely on Yahoo answers.

My sister got implants ans they went under the muscle, they look so real and she was asking the same question.

well there will remain scars, but it is possible to do it around the nipple area. scary, but it works well
