It is strange that about 2 years are passed now and Sourav Gangully has not got his lost form yet. India needs his captaincy.
What is the reason ? He donot want play in team again or he is not practicing or he thinks he has earned enough money and there is no need to work hard.

A general ans to the form of a Batsman:
There are ups and downs in the career of every batsman, but the real player achieves the form back in some span of time, if given proper opportunities.
specific to ganguly issue:
Ganguly is indeed a great player of cricket India and entire Cricket world has ever seen. His timing while playing will be remembered for Long. But, in gangulys case his game is suffering due to a indifferent attitude of bcci, and i will Say that a coach has a great impact on the selection (rather non selection) of the team.
looking at the current scenario we cannot expect Ganguly to come back before world cup and its quite evident that a player at his age cannot expect to come back if he looses the opportunity to come back to Indian team.
he will still always be remembered as a great player and bcci politics will always be held responsible for a abrupt decline in his career.

The question is dependant on a person to person basis. It is possible to gain your lost form back. Now the problem with Ganguly is that i think he is trying to hard to come back into the team instead of trying to get better.

I think he is not trying hard to me the batsman of his caliber should have done some thing in domestic matches recently its just his mindset and will power that is keeping him away otherwise his abilities are acknowledged by everyone.
