Regretably, getting a lawyer is almost absolutely always a waste of time and a lot of money. You are going to pay the fine and the court costs and get the points against your insurance. That is absolute. Then if you hire a lawyer - he or she will charge you a lot of good money and do absolutely nothing that helps. They are just a bystander that gets a cut. I have won every case in which I represented myself and paid a lot to lose every single time I got a lawyer. They are a part of "the system" and only there to make it cost you more so you will think harder before doing it again. Most all are what I would consider as scam artists.

Take different roads than those with police radar. The word is always out in every community where these guys are hiding.

It depends on the lawyer, the state and which authority ticketed you.
Was it city, county, state or what?

For instance, If I were to get a ticket in Tampa (Hillsborough county) I would get a lawyer because the police force in Tampa sucks and you can get off easily.
However, in Clearwater (Pinellas county), it's not worth it, just pay the fine and be more careful.

You have to find a lawyer who knows the legal climate.
Check with multiple lawyers that give a free consultation.

Depends on where you live and what the laws are. I had 10 tickets in four years living in TX. Never had a one of them go on my record. Cost me about $95 per ticket to get it taken care of. Some they can make go away, some they got dismissed after having me take defensive driving, others were handled through deferred adjudication. Check with a lawyer in your area to see if there is anything he/she can do.

how about you just slow down and stick to the speed limits around you.
if you get too many you could lose your licence you know.
