Yes I have, I try to donate as much as possible. When I was anorexic I had to stop because I was to thin to give blood healthy. I've been giving consitantly for a while now I happen to have O- blood so they love it when I walk in the door. It's nice to know anybody in trouble can recieve my blood since it's universal.

Most blood centers have an outdate rate of approximately 1-2 %. The most common units reaching outdate are type AB red cells and whole blood derived platelets. It is better to have a slight excess of blood components, with subsequent loss of some components, than to have a shortage. Products that expire are generally sent to companies that use the outdated components, such as harvesting of hemoglobin from expired red cells in oxygen replacement fluid research.

Yes, I donate regularly. I have since I turned 18, I am 32 now. I have 2 "gallon" pins from the red cross, but I know I have given far more than that.

Yes, I have. Fainted both times. So now I donate my time to the local blood bank handing out the juice, water, and cookies. That's how I do my part to help.

Yes, I donated blood after working all day and not eating, I got very sick and would suggest a light meal prior to doing so.
Sick like in puking and gas in front of another employee was really embarrassed.
