The frog crawls out of the well on the evening of the 28th day.
If he fell in at 8:00am, and the slipping back ends at 8:00am and the climbing starts at 8:00 am, then, in exactly 27 days he will be at the 27 foot marker. The total time to get out of the well is 27 days plus however long it takes the frog to climb 3 feet. I assume he climbs for 12 hours then slips for 12 hours, so it takes 27 days 12 hours.

I am going to say 28 days! because on the start of the 28th day he should be at 27 feet so he would climb 3 more feet to making 30 feet (the height of the well) which should put him at the top! Besides, are you sure he fell in and didn't get thrown in?

28 days, no?
At the end of every day, he has climbed a total of 1 foot.
At the end of 27 days, he has climbed 27 feet. On the 28th day, he climbs three feet and so gets out of the well.
