This is really dependent on where you live. The East and West Coast makes the most (I heard in NY that new grad RN's start off at $60,000) where the midwest and the south make far less (I would say starting 30's to 40's).

Go to salary.com and type in your state to find out.

It does matter if you are an RN vs. an LPN/LVN (Registered vs. Licensed Practical/Vocational). RN's get paid more because they can do more and have the education.

Bachelor and Master degrees do not necessarily command more money, but you can get better jobs with those degrees.
