Im new to this site. I find it comforting that there are actually people out there willing to answer this question. I was deaf for years and now that I've had my cochlear implant I am really wondering.... how much work do you actually do, at work? Do you bust your chops and find it pays in the end? Do you slack? I don't work in a normal situation. I work where major cut throats exist and you get very little satisfaction from what you do or who you are. If I could I'd become a paramedic tomorrow just to do something worthwhile but I know the pay stinks. So I stay in the computer field. So how much work do you do....at work?

Hello,

I try to accomplish set objectives to the best of my abilities.

If an objective is set which is unrealistic then it makes me want to work less as i know that i will never complete the objective in the time that i spend at work.

If i get an objective that is achievable then i do my best to complete it, as best i can, as quick as i can. If there is not a lot to do then i slack a bit, and if there is a lot to do then i work harder to try to lower that load.

My bosses can be quite harsh, and demotivating; and sometimes they can be friendly. When they are in a bad mood i just find out what tasks i have to do, then i try to keep out of their way...

When i do a good job, i feel like i am a valued member of the team; and i feel that i have earned my wage and that i am useful. By working to the best of my abilities i feel that it will be easier to get future promotion.

Thanks
