i love indian flims and see nothing wrong with them. sure sometimes the plot is stuip and just a bunhc of jibberish, but that is when the music comes in because usually in a bad indian flim there is good music and when you have a good indian film like shaadi karke phasgaya plus great music you hit a bonus win.

Indians are emotionally strong bound. Family values are preserved and nurtured over centuries. verbal communication in the form of dialogue has been the best form of continuity of the story around which a film is produced. Songs interspersed, particularly in romantic scenes, catch the audience captive and retain interest. Some of the songs have lived beyond 5 decades in the humming of large population. It can be argued whether a song is at all necessary for a given situation. It has become an accepted norm, only art films or awareness films, documentaries do not have songs. t can be only said there should be a judicial mix of songs in films which is carried over in memory for long time to come. Regarding fighting it is mostly to satisfy the front bechers who are in fighting mood, not knowing to fight with whom.

Music and Bollywood are inseperable.
As for the audience, well everybody has a different outlook so nobody can blame anybody isn't it?
Actually if there isn't any massala in bollywood then there isn't any fun !!

India is a poor country. People need affordable entertainment to forget their problems. As long as we remain poor we will need everything in the film for entertainment. Songs provide a very good and healthy form of entertainment

Its ok if they have good songs in the movie but unfortunately most don't fit that category. What a waste of 20-30 mins watching stupid songs! I think they just put more music in the songs so they can sell CDs, but hey thanks to illegal downloading they might just have to rethink that strategy! lol
