right, well its coming upto xmas soon, and i'm stuck on ideas on what to get her, i don't want to get her jewellry, mainly cause i got her jewellry last year, and for her birthday, so something different would be good, last year i thought i'd get someone no one else would, an ipod, but her bro ended up getting one that was better lol, anyways moving on, i've only got one REAL lead, a decent watch, she's got one now but she keeps complaining its broke etc - always has done, but i still reckon its classed as jewellry, so any ideas on something a bit different, spend bout 60/80 quid, we're both youngish and not living together (18/19) i work full time, she's at uni, we see each other often as she she went to the uni thats close to here, we've had a hard past few months, so i want this to be really really special

I now you don't want to get the watch but by her saying its broken is a sure sign that she wants you to buy her a new one - I did the same thing. I got a DKNY watch off my Fiancee last Christmas and love it. It means a lot to me as he chose it himself and picked up on the hints and I get to wear it everyday.

If you're really agaist it then how about making up a basket of all her favourite things - eg. Perfume, bubble bath, a CD, DVD, Nice underwear (not crotchless panties), a simple pair of earrings that she can wear everyday, It doesn't matter if you've already bought her a pair women love jewellery and it makes it more special and personal. Fave sweets or chocolate, how about a disposable camera to capture the Christmas moments together. I posh picture frame with her fave pic of the 2 of you in.........

I think the watch is a good idea. My bf bought me a diamond necklace for my birthday and now my watch has broke and I would love one for Christmas. I don't class them both as Jewellry and besides I can't afford my own watch. You might as well get her something she wants and needs.

Make a gift basket full of "pampering" items-
**Pretty smelling bath gel, lotion, bath beads etc...
**Scented candle, possibly in same scent as bath items...
**Some nice chocolates or truffles...(or whatever her fav candy is)
**A CD of relaxing music or environmental sounds (stream, light rain, beach..whatever her nature interest reflects)
**A pair of nice, soft, fluffy slippers
**Check in the cosmetic isle for either manicure/pedicure or facial items.

You don't need to get ALLLL of these items, these are just some ideas to put into it. Gift baskets are great because you can accomodate what you put in it to reflect both her interests and your budget! Plus, it shows her that you took time to really think of "her" and the things she likes....instead of just telling a sales person to "wrap it up", And we girls LOVE to be pampered!
GOOD LUCK!

Something thoughtful is to get her a nice picture frame with a picture of the both of you. She can put it on her nightstand when she is away at school. (Or get her a less expensive frame and get an additional gift like a cute teddy bear.)

My advice would be to make something for her. There is no need to spend a lot of money on a person and at least this way she will know that it really came from the heart and that you put a lot of thought into it.

in basic terms 6 months huh? nicely rings is usually a winner. Yep... i might circulate with a superb gemstone necklace or maybe a braclet with sometime engraved on the returned or possibly a handwritten poem.

well think about what she likes like me i love horses and dolphins so my man tends to stay with like trinkets and stuff. just dont look and hold on to some money and one day when ur in the mall or something u will find it that is how it ends up happening sometimes but if she cares about u it will not matter what u get her i remember one year me and may man did not have alot of money to spend so i made him a big dinner and a card and he loved it and he gave me a burned cd of songs that he felt would tell me how he feels and it has been about 2 year ago and i still have and listen to that cd

How about a pampering day at her local beauty salon - get a voucher or pre-book some treatments you know she would like?
