Do you enjoy where you are working? This I think you need to answer, be truthful to yourself. If you do like the job, I think that you would be best putting it down to experience and don't go there again. If the answer is no I don't like this job, I would start looking for a new position and forget all about this. The longer you stand in **** the more you smell of it, let it drop and move on, don't forget those who stabbed you in the back but this isn't good for your health to keep turning this over in your head.

Choose your battles carefully. If the matter did not negatively affect your job or status then use it as a learning experience for the future. If there were serious negative affects then follow-up and esclate the concern. People will often turn tail and run or lie to protect their jobs it's a natrual reaction to a threat to their livelyhood. The only way to be sure of people's intentions and motives is to test the waters. Only share low-level information and non important things with co-workers until you feel that you have built up a repore where you know they can be trusted.

It bursts that 'I feel secure in myself' bubble, doesn't it! I had a similar thing happen. There's absolutely no point in confronting anybody unless they've broken any law. If you're anything like me and you don't want to leave the job because you enjoy it so much, you have to remember that you've got to continue to work with these people. The only thing you can do is take a deep breath (suck it in!) and file it under 'Things Never To Be Done Again!'. It doesn't stop you feeling used and it doesn't make you forget completely, but it's the only option if you want to remain there.
Good Luck.

"The truth will set you free"
Your integrity must remain, the type of people who recognise your true character are the type of people you want to work for.
Although it's hard to find a work place without any liars or gossipers, so we all must put up with it, and try to be an example to fellow colleagues, you may not know it, but in the back of their minds they want to be just like you.....they just don't have the courage to stand up for what is right.
Is it really your employer or just one of the "managers"?
If you find another job, don't be shy to make it known to your manager/employer why you wanted to leave. My brother has recently been in a similar situation: he handed in his notice because he disagreed totally with the ethics and decisions the manager was making.......the manager is now in trouble with the police or losing his temper with staff members and the reputation of the place has been lost, along with the custom.

Firstly, you are neither naive nor stupid. You should be proud of yourself.
Although it is tempting to say bust them, you need to consider the consequences. Will your job be put at risk if you do, and if you lose it, are you confident of getting another one?
Perhaps you could line up another job first, then blow the whistle, then offer your resignation. This is tough, because why should you have to leave when you have done nothing wrong?
You've got to be realistic, though. Personally, I wouldn't want to continue working with a bunch of liars who think nothing of dropping you in it.

Put it down to a lesson learned. You did do the right thing ,and now you know how shallow they are, let it go this time, but never forget incase there is a next time.

not knowing all the facts, it's hard to say, but in general, unless laws have been broken, there is little use trying to publicly criticize your employer. people will think it reflects badly on you, no matter what. if there is a crime involved, tho, that may be a different story.

Confront them individually and tell them what concerns you
ask pointed questions and let them know your stance
Last resort to bust them but if no answers, bust em.
