Tonyhrst has the right idea. Try your local college, they will have IT courses for every level. You could also get in touch with Microsoft who have a great deal of courses etc to get you going -
Microsoft.com

If you have windows as an operating system on your computer then just follow these instructions:
Click on START
Go to ALL PROGRAMS.
Go to ACCESSORIES.
Go to MICROSOFT INTERACTIVE TRAINING.
Click on MICROSOFT INTERACTIVE TRAINING - the one with the PENCIL icon.

The best way to learn something is have somebody walk you through it - in this case let the computer walk your mouse through it.

In Basic IT you will learn WORD PROCESSING, DATABASES, SPREADSHEETS and basically how to use a computer. If you have access to one then you can learn all this from MICROSOFT OFFICE because they all have guided tours which can teach you a lot about the basics.

Whichever route you decide to take, good luck and go for it!

Do CLAIT - it introduces you to the most common packages you find in offices. In all there are 3 different levels - beginners, intermediate and advcanced. The Intermediate and advanced levels get you doing things on e-mail and website.
