AC/DC the song is BACK in BLACK
Back in Black is the seventh studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released on 25 July 1980 (see 1980 in music). It is also AC/DC's sixth international studio album. All songs were written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Brian Johnson.
Back in Black was the first AC/DC album recorded without former lead singer Bon Scott, who died unexpectedly in February 1980. The band considered disbanding following Scott's death, but ultimately decided to continue and shortly thereafter hired Johnson as their new lead singer and lyricist. Though the Young brothers had begun work on their next studio album prior to Bon's death, and Bon Scott had written lyrics for potential new songs, the decision was made to redo the album from scratch upon hiring Johnson. Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who had previously worked with AC/DC on Highway to Hell, was again brought in to produce.

There was a song called Black is Black by La Belle Epoque in the 70's but as for the whispers, I don't recall that.

If it's from the 70's then it could be by a French female duo called Baccarat. It was in the charts around 1977. They had another single around the same time called Yes sir, i can boogie. One was blonde, the other a brunette. My (much!) older sister has the singles somewhere!

Black Is Black
Los Bravos
Black is black
I want my baby back
It's gray, it's gray
Since she went away, Ooh-Ooh
What can I do
'Cause I-I-I-I-I'm feelin' blue
If I had my way
She'd be back today
But she don't intend
To see me again, Ooh-Ooh
What can I do
'Cause I-I-I-I-I'm feelin' blue
I can't choose
It's too much to lose
My love's too strong
Wow! Maybe if she
would come back to me
Then it can't go wrong
Bad is bad
That I feel so sad
It's time, it's time
That I found peace of mind, Ooh-Ooh
What can I do
'Cause I-I-I-I-I'm feelin' blue
I can't choose
It's too much to lose
My love's too strong
Wow! Maybe if she
would come back to me
Then it can't go wrong
Black is black
I want my baby back
It's gray, it's gray
Since she went away, Ooh-Ooh
What can I do
'Cause I-I-I-I-I'm feelin' blue.....
'Cause I-I-I-I-I'm feelin' blue

. Originally known as Los Sonor, Mike Kogel (b. 25 April 1945, Berlin, Germany; vocals), Antonio Martinez (b. 3 October 1945, Madrid, Spain; guitar), Manolo 'Manuel' Fernandez (b. 29 September 1943, Seville, Spain, d. 1969; organ), Miguel Vicens Danus (b. 21 June 1944, Palma de Mallona, Spain; bass) and Pablo 'Gomez' Samllehi (b. 5 November 1943, Barcelona, Spain; drums) were voted Spain's top beat group following two Top 10 hits in their own country. Kogel had previously recorded as Michael And The Firebirds, Mike Keller and Mike And Joe And The Rebel Guys. They achieved international recognition in 1966 when 'Black Is Black', a song composed by two Englishmen, Tony Hayes and Steve Wadey, rose to number 2 in the UK charts in the wake of heavy promotion on pirate radio. The song's compulsive hookline proved equally popular in the USA where it reached number 4.

Never heard of it. The only thing I can think of is "Back in Black" by AC/DC (I think, don't really like them).
