It's hell as a cyclist in London.
I've been driven into twice and had someone u-turn right in front of me (and me knock into him cause I couldn't break in time)
I get hooted at and pushed of the road often, and I don't know why? I wear a helmet, I have lights, I don't jump red lights, and I keep to the side of the road to the best of my ability.
Yet still there are idiots changing lanes or zooming right past me when I try to change lanes, and then they shout, hoot or make rude hand signs.
I think cars should be banned in the city, and only bicycles and public transport should be allowed.
They pollute and the drivers are @ssholes!

No way you should try driving in the North East of Scotland, then you'll know rude. The taxi drivers think that the roads are for their use and their use only.Bad mannered blighters.
I would say per head of captia of population the Drivers in London (who mostly don't live in London by the way) are extremely curteous.
If you don't go with the flow in London you are a lost cause as far as traffic is concerned. You can't afford to pussyfoot around especially in places like Marble Arch.

London in general is a bit like that (not just the roads - ever fought for a seat on the tube? or tried to walk down the road in a straight line without bumping into someone who won't move?), but it's the same in any capital city. Rome and Paris are mad. I have a Spanish cousin who is calm and placid on the road in the UK, but becomes a speeding manic who beeps everyone in Spain!
There are bad drivers, foreigners who drive differently, and people who aren't used to driving in London (ie. from the countryside) and go too slowly!

Drive for a while in Asia, especially in India and China. When you return driving in London, you will appreciate how polite the drivers in London are....

try bournemouth, most drivers cant't even see over the driving wheel, most took their test when there were about 3 cars on the road in the whole of the country. cars are often only driven on a sunday to go to the car wash, the rest of the week they are in the garage. nobody stops to let you pull out, if you stop for them they take 5 minutes to make a decision to pull out and then look at you as if you are stupid for being considerate, at least in london people make quick decisions and get on with it.

Most of the manics on the road in London are immigrants, who shouldn't be granted a drivers licence in my opinion.

No, they're at their meanest when they end up in Berlin. It means they made a wrong turn somewhere and don't want to be bothered!
