In England, some of the less well orf or unlucky people (my home burnt down and it wasn't insured) have to live in rented accomodation.

Do you find the attitude of landlords so unpleasant and dictatorial that it makes your life a continual misery? This is especially Housing Association, Councils and private landlords which does not leave much else.

Apart from the greed of private landlords, the Housing Associations use their unaccountable power to gang up on people they don't like and the Councils engage in political manipulation against their enemies (or to hide their incompetence). .

yes indeed!without a doubt. I live in rented housing association, and last month I was assaulted by a girl who,had never in the five years I had been here, even spoken a word to me,She hit me in the face with piece of wood and was charged and sentenced etc.
I got called to the housing office and accused of something which is not true. The housing lady had even been phoning round the other residents(even those not affected by the incident)as though she was asking 'what do you think of that girl at no...?
All the feedback I got was that someone had noticed that my son had been in plaster twice (after breaking his leg)which is ,forgive me for saying,'nothing to do with the incident'.
The housing association basically tried to say it was my fault and i was made to look like a criminal.
so yeah housing associations SUCK big time!

Renters in the UK are treated like garbage. The history here is interesting: when the government stopped building enough public housing, people were pushed into the private market. That was okay when buying was easy. But now buying is hard so many people need to rent. But the rental market is very backward compared to other countries, and renters are treated very badly, almost like they are criminals, despite paying so much money. Much of th rental stock is also out-of-date. You can't find clean, well managed apartment buildings here.

i hate land lords.

I've lived in three different shared houses.

one house was damp, boiler broke down in the middle of winter(i had the flu) it took him three weeks to get it fixed.

house number two had a criminal next door who kept trying to get in the steal things, land lord refused to put extra locks on doors. to expensive.

house three a drug dealer moved in who became violent towards me and my partner when the land lady asked for her over due rent. I was told i couldn't leave because ''she had a lot of money tied up in the house) what the hell did i care with my life on the line.

they are SO greedy and they watch the property porn on TV 24/7 and they think they can make money for doing very little.
