As crazy as he is at times I don't think the Red Sox can afford to trade him. I guess it all depends on how much "Manny" management want to put up with. Two things about your statement "I hope he goes to the Yankees!" One, the Red Sox are not dumb enough to trade such a power hitter to another team in the same division, specially the hated Yankees!! Two, where would they put him even if they got him? The only place he could end up as is a DH. Of course that's not a bad thing. The other factor would be, do the Yankees want to put up with his insanity?
Finally, the Red Sox are in trouble. They have a manager who may be the worse in baseball. Terry Francona doesn't know one end of the bat from the other. Schilling is on the "VERY" down side of his career and will certainly end up on the DL sometime during the season. They finished 3rd this past season and will do the same next season. The Yankees are reloading and will win it all in 2007.

My gut feeling is no.
The Red Sox won the World Series in 2004 on the back of David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez pounding the ball as the best 1,2 punch in Baseball and from what I've read - they won't be getting that kind of instant return if they managed to find a taker for Manny's big salary to start with.
Boston will roll the dice with their 2006 roster again in 2007 and hope to get a full year from Schilling, Ramirez, Varitek and Ortiz like they did 2 years ago... but I'd be very surprised if they improved their chances of winning another title without Manny Ramirez on the roster.

No way will manny get traded. This comes about every year and still nothing happens. Even if by some small chance he does get traded, we will have to all skate home from work today before he gets traded to the yankees. That would be the same as the Palestinians and the Jews all going out to eat together and exchanging land.... It just won't happen.

What is it about Manny Ramirez? He doesn't hustle, he has a "I deserve the MVP every season" attitude and he's made some of the most hilarious plays in the outfield you'll ever see (Game One of the '04 World Series, he tripped on himself and the ball bounced off his glove, I laughed so hard...wasn't laughing later when the Cards lost)....yet if he wasn't in baseball, I'd miss him. The guy can hit for sure. He is truly an American League-type player. And I'd sure as heck take him on my team any day of the week, and I HATE it when players don't hustle, but the guy has a dangerous bat, what can I say....he's just Manny.
And I think he'll stay in Boston....but I'd like to see him help a team that hasn't done well in awhile, like the Orioles. The Orioles used to be a force. Major League Baseball needs the Orioles to do well again.

Everyone thinks that all the "superstars" in baseball will go to the Yankees. The Yankees have enough problems with their dinosaur of a team they have. I don't think Boston would trade Manny and even if they did, it wouldn't be to team in their own division. Look for Manny to go to the national league if he gets traded, or to a team that's willing to DH him, because I wouldn't want him in left field anymore.

No, he will not be traded. If Manny has a hard time handling publicity in Boston, can you imagine what hell New York would be for him where even their die hard fans boo great players like A-Rod. He'd NEVER approve a trade to the Yankees. He will be staying put with the Red Sox.
Chow!!

no every year you hear about manny ramirez possibly being traded but it doen't happen and it won't happen this year either because it would not be in their best interest to do so and especially trading him in their division especially to a hated rival nope not gonna happen i hope the yankees don't sign anybody and that all the free agents reject the yankees

You don't mean that do you?
Manny Ramirez is a great player but he's an attitude ready to happen. If he doesn't get his way he pouts and becomes disruptive. The Yanks don't need another outfielder. They're set with Matsui, Damon and Abreu and its one of the best in baseball. And don't forget Melky whos our fourth and ready to step in.
Let Manny go to the National League.

I think Manny is happy (for now) in Boston and the Sox are not willing to accept 50 cents on the dollar just to get rid of him. He is important to that lineup to bat after Ortiz.

Teams don't need to worry abotu his contract. If the Red Sox trade him, they are going to have to pay a huge chunk of his salary.
And this crap about teams don't want him, Bullshtit. Manny is one of teh best offenseive players in teh game, nobody can argue that. Yeah he there are times he gets lazy in left field, but he isn't a great defender. I think almost any team would take him. His attitude isn't that bad, and if it is, that's when your team leaders need to step up and take care of it. ****, send him to the White Sox, we'll take him.
