Price- and check that if you pay a deposit and then the rest just before the event- will the price increase because of yearly inflation? Our venue tried that one on us- didn't work though- but that's because I can give as good as I get.

Anyway, if the venue has an outside option- and it rains of the big day- will they relocate inside the venue or do you just get rained on?

Can you select your own music or do you have to chose one of their songs?

How many people can the venue hold?

Will you need to have your reception at the venue?

Do they supply wine for guests or do you have to do that (wine for when guests arrive).

Can you decorate? We were married at Knebworth House barns and naturally we weren't allowed to put decorations up on the walls.

Would you need flowers to arrive the day before of on the day?

Does the venue have gardens and if so will you need to pay extra to have photographs taken in the grounds?

They're a few that we're very glad we asked :)

if theres a charge for minimum number of guests etc
what packages they offer
and if they do offer food packages can you have your own caterers in instead and what money will they take off for that!
whether they provide cultery/plates etc, as where we were they would only put out enough plates for the number of ppl we had paid for the buffet for (regardless of the fact ppl will use more than one plate!)
if there will be any other weddings there that day!
ask to look at the rooms set up for a wedding (if they arent already)
ask what discounts (if hotel) guests will have if they stay there!
ask if theres a room provided for guests to get changed in! (as some will want to change)
tell them what you want and dont let them boss you around it is your friends day and you are paying to be there so tell them dont be told!
ask how many weddings they have catered for before! (gives you an idea on how capable they are)
ask who you will be dealing with throughout the whole wedding, you want one person to be able to arrange things with.
