I don't know if may be if I'm asking for too much. I thoughts friends don't lie to you, don't use use you, don't betray you, don't talk about you behind your back, are sincere in what they say. I thought they are supposed to like you for who you are and who care about you to ask you how you are once in a while (like a once every 2-3 weeks even via email or sms). I seem to be a hermit with no genuine frens. I have a lot of acquaintances but I doubt if any of them like me, and certainly I don't feel they are people I trust.

A friend is alot of things. A friend listens, loves you, doesn't judge you, respects you, doesn't gossip about you, is there for you, shares with you, gives advice and helps you, when you need it. If your friends are not these things, then go out and find new friends. There is always someone looking for a good friend. Don't be shy...get out there...you will find a great friend!

Sounds like you are getting older or maturing. If you are young and experiencing this it is a bit strange to me. As you get older you usually experience this with friends and family. It is a hard thing to go through in life and I have experienced it. I have to surrender to the fact that most of my friends are stuck in the past and I moved on. The same with family. Not much different even though we are of the same bloodline. I used to think that you choose your friends but often that isn't true. My friends are just like family and to replace them with new ones is hard because we have a history that can never be remotely duplicated. This all is a cold part of life to experience. Your work, hobbies, pastimes will help you cope somewhat but hopefully you will move on to better friends and I wish you luck. Don't rush this process and choose your social environment where you meet people very carefully and you may have success finding some friends. Remember that you have to be a friend first. Hold your standards to the same level as you have held your friends. Don't compromise your standards for being a friend or having them. Quality not quantity. One halfway decent friend is worth a hundred. To have experienced one true friend in a lifetime is to have lived your life to it's fullest.

Well you are right in considering what a true friend is. However as in a modern world most of us only aim for what we want, therefore a lot of people betrayed us, lied to us just to made sure that they won't lose out to us in any way.
This situation will continues as long as there are human beings and there is things that benefits them like promotion or job opportunity.
True friends will stay with you in times where you need them most and friends who abondon you in time where you need help can be forgotten

hi
The meaning of frndship differs from person to person.....for some a frnd is a sister, some one to tell ur prob's.The prob. with u is that u haven't been able to choose the rght frnds.I have many gud frnds who care for me cus i knw who r the genuine ones and the fake, choosing frnds is not based on the outer beauty,it's by seeing their real inner beauty....i knw it diff. to understand whose the real frnd and whose not but u'll find a person who u have something in common with.Frndship is something gr8 just because u haven't been able to find true frnds who add beauty to the word frndship, don't look down at frndship.I'm sure u'll soon find a gud frnd.Be free to mail me.
