I receive 3 to 4 "unknown" calls daily. When I pickup no one is there. I am on the "no call" list, I have complained to the phone company, and I have also pressed the pound key rapidly, but nothing helps to get rid of them. Does anyone have an answer?

If its a landline(not a cellphone) you can just block all restricted callers...the phone call will not go through without revealing the number...just call your phone company to put call blocking on.

I had the same problem after getting on the "no call list"...what I did was answer the phone, press 0 and tell the telemarketer, I was on the "no call list" and if they ever called again I would report them...all the calls stopped!

Get broadband and a VoIP (such as Vonage) line. Gives better control. And don't get listed in the directlory.

With Vonage you can get extra "virtual" numbers that you can give out and then cancel when they start being used by spammers, telemarketers, collection agencies, etc. And you always have a list of who called and when and for how long. So long as the caller ID works.

Even though you are on the "do not call" list if you have ordered anything or filled out something that had you list your number they can call you so what you need to do is update your number with the "do not call" list again.

if no number shows up at all i do know something that will help but only if the number itself wont show up... i have something called call intercept, it is for unavailables with no number, if they call they have to leave their name on a recording before it will even ring into the house. if they wont it just disconnects them. if they do on the other hand leave a name it will play the message to you and you can deny or accept the call. if this is your problem call and see if it is available to you!!! hope this helps!!
