Google Earth is practically a virtual globe or an atlas if you will. Use it however you want!
* Plot out your roadtrip & take a virtual drive-though of it...
* Visit famous landmarks...
* Take virtual tours of cities or countries!
The only think you CANNOT to with Google Earth is to spy on people. Pretty much only the government is allowed to do that & any pictures shown within the US (& some other places worldwide) are at least a few days old (if not older), so it's impractical to do so.

If you go to mt. Etna you can see lava, or disneyland Paris you can actually see people in some parts. I thought it was cool when i went on holiday to find my hotel on it before i went, although all i could see on the site was a crane which was a bit worrying! :)

yes. see the world famous taj mahal. seeing one's own home from above is great. see the places where you want to go but haven't, there is too much to do with google earth.

If you enable google community, you can go and take a tour of all the sunken wrecks visible. I found it quite fun.
