how do i find out what sound drivers i need i know its on board but is there a progeamme that tells me what M/B i have so i can find the drivers

You can get all the specifications with the dealer, You don't really need to worry about all that, since most of the mother boards are already equipped with the required commodities.

When you switch on your system it displays the first screen with some name i.e. the company name of motherboard manufacturer.

For Example : Mercury, Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Intel Inside etc..
and try for the drivers depending on it..

for sound drivers, follow these steps:
right click on my computer > properties > hardware > device manager > select SOUND and right click and again select properties. thats it.

for motherboard, follow these steps:
right click on my computer > properties. there u can see COMPUTER: here u can see which processor, which made will be listed.

Download & run a freeware utility called "Aida32"...it will tell you what you want to know. D/load from....
