Dinesh Karthik is the wrong choice altogether. This does not mean that he is not performing, but Gambhir has performed the best in domestic circuit with a couple of centuries against best bowlers in the country and that too consistently.
It is a gross negligeiency on the part of Vengesarkar.
If he wanted to take a technically better batsman, Laxman was the best choice and that too Laxman has a tremendous record in foreign pitches.
The initial perception of Vengesarkar has now faded and he is from the same flock.

No. Dinesh Karthik has been included in the team as an extra batsman. With Tendulkar, Shewag and Dravid as the 3 certain batsmen, the place for the remaining 2 batsmen, if India will be playig with 5 batsmen, will have to be decided between Kaif, Mongia and Raina.

My dear friend,
I can't see arole for Karthik in the team, not at least for the near future. When u hv someone like Dhoni in the team, it is very difficult to think of anyone else. Unless Dhoni goes through a poor form slump (close to a year) or gets injured, there is hardly a chance that Karthik would be a regular in the team.
Raina is definitely replaceable. He may be a good talent but what matters is how u bring that talent on field. Thatz where hez been failing for last 10 matches or so. Take him out, send him back to school and make sure u pick him as soon as he strikes form. Thatz how u keep the team form going!!! In his absence, I think Kaif and Mongia can manage. I don't find Venugopala Rao (in spite of his local records) to be a world beater.

Mate, Dinesh Karthik is a wicketkeeper batsman whereas Raina is a specialist batsman and a pretty good fielder. We already have Dhoni as the wicketkeeper batsman in the team. What is the need of two wicketkeeper batsman in the team? So how can Raina be replaced by Karthik

actually no cuz raina is a much better player than dinesh karthik.i agree that karthik is really a rocking wicketkeeper but still raina fields well and also bats well as compared to Dkarthik.so forget about replacing raina with karthik!!

Dhoni has startedplaying for India as a wicket keeper before Karthik was included in the Team and he has almost become a permanent member of the team. Since Dhoni has not done badly behind the stumps, it will be quite unfair to replace him with Karthik as wicket keeper.

I think Venugopal Rao s better to replace Raina.He has excellent firstclass records(over 6000 runs with avg >50).He ll make our middle order strong.Raina,Karthik,Parthiv patel need some more experience

Karthick is replacing yuvraj in the XI's for the south africa tour.Raina is great player needs some more match to prove his mettle.They can bring venugopala rao instead of karthick

I think we lack on the bowling part. We should experiment in that department by giving chance to newcomers in fast bowling
